3 weeks sober

I don’t eat much these days, but I believe that is only partially due to my recent sobriety. I’ve found some really good Oikos yogurt protein drinks that are really filling. I’m not a big fan of traditional protein drinks so this is great for me. I’ve been really looking forward to running recently as well as my usual workouts. I wish I could go for a run today, but I’m feeling a little under the weather and I’m gonna be overly gentle with myself. I still have about 9 weeks until my 5k, so I can afford to take it easy for a few days. I haven’t stopped wanting to sleep 12 hours per day. It’s getting better, but the fatigue has been the hardest symptom to deal with. When I started this journey, I wasn’t sure how long I was going to commit to being sober before I allowed myself to drink again, but my first goal was 30 days. Now that I’m about to end day #21, I’m realizing that there’s no way I’ll be able to experience the full amount of what sobriety can do for me in only 30 days. It has taken me almost that long just to regain my energy and learn how to take back my evenings and weekends. Am I really gonna undo all that progress on October 1st? Especially when I don’t even want a beer right now, and I haven’t for a few days? I fully believe that keeping my internal vision narrowed to today/this week/this month was the key to my sobriety in the first week or so. However, now that I’m getting closer to my first big milestone, I’m realizing that I might need to reevaluate.
