2 weeks sober

A little bit about and my sobriety journey. (Trigger warning-drunk driving). Back in November, I drank something I don't normally, which I should not have done, and then proceeded to make another terrible decision, to drive. No other alcohol has made me that much of an idiot. I still take full responsibility of course. I drove all of 52 feet before I was pulled over. I had a full sobbing meltdown with the cop and from what I remember I was even flapping some (I'm on the spectrum). It was all very scary but the cop was nice enough to drive me home after observing me and testing me the 2nd time. I ended up not being able to support my friend by watching her workout competition the following day. I couldnt drive to get there. I felt awful about it. Additionally, I had to admit it all to my kids and though I'm sorry for any anxiety it maybe one day causes them, I am glad to be a cautionary tale for them at the same time and that I'm still here to be there mom. Never again will that be my decision. I dont drink and drive PERIOD. My sobriety journey is one of no alcohol in the house (which was the case before the incident anyway) and only drinking with friends but that is few and far between. I dont want my car ANYWHERE near me when I do. Never. Again. Glad to have my kids, my husband and you guys in my corner ❤️ Yall are rockstars!
