It was what people who hit rock bottom and had absolutely no other choice. That they’d have to suffer without drinking for the rest of their lives because of overdoing it. I suppose the mindset is really the biggest reframe I have. I’m realizing it’s better to be sober and it’s nice to remember things and not feel guilt everyday. It feels like this is a choice- and a good one I’m making.
