This evening, I will lead our 12 step group in celebrating a 10-year sobriety anniversary for one of our most faithful attendees. We always ask, “How did you do it? What’s the secret to your sobriety?” I guarantee he will say, “There’s no magic formula. Find a group, attend meetings, get a sponsor, work the steps.” Be proactive friends. For all of our addictions, even addiction to lust, there is a 12-step program for it. Just suck it up and go. You’ll meet people just like you, who have been in your shoes and want you to have a life of sobriety. Tonight I give thanks for my sponsor who is receiving his 10 year coin. One day I’ll be getting mine. But it’s just that - one day at a time.
