I think I’m realizing that quitting THC isn’t really the scary part. It’s figuring out what I’m supposed to do with my life once I’m actually present for it. I’ve spent basically the last decade isolating and getting super high. I have zero friends right now, and sometimes it genuinely feels like there’s this whole world happening around me that I’m not participating in. I want friends. I want hobbies. I want to get healthy. I want to date and go places and have stories and actually LIVE instead of just getting high and making the days disappear. But all of those things require doing stuff that scares me. Making friends means risking rejection. Getting healthy means exercising when I don’t feel like it. Meeting people means being awkward sometimes. Building a life means actually showing up for it. And I think that’s what I’m trying to learn how to do now. I’m scared, but I want that life more than I want to stay comfortable. For anyone who rebuilt their life after getting sober… where did you even start?
