I wish people understood more how it's a daily struggle. The urges don't go away in a week, the dependency doesn't go away within a week, and honestly, it may never go away. We have to take it day by day. And even having "one drink" can completely derail our entire lives. It can destroy our progress and leave us standing at square one once again. it's not their fault or anything but people that don't have to deal with addiction can't realize that we can't just have "one drink" because one drink turns into 20 , and then it turns into other substances, and then it turns into us restarting our journey once again.
