I rarely have cravings for alcohol anymore. If I do, I remember all the bad things and the craving goes away by itself. With drugs, I do have discussions and negotiations in my head, like what situations would be okay to use which drugs recreationally, and whether I could see it as something beneficial to my human experience. It’s tough because I know how long it takes the body to recover from chemicals, but I’m still very much in love with them. Cocaine is the devil, so that one is easier for me to avoid. I think in my head that mushrooms are okay because they’re natural. Cannabis is another difficult situation. I do see the danger of it inducing psychosis. It’s also hard to dose correctly since weed nowadays can be so highly concentrated. Tiny doses for me can feel beneficial and like a good way to compensate for that feel-good factor you sometimes want to access when you’re in a group and want to have a good time. Currently, I can’t smoke because I’m in therapy, but I’m already planning and thinking about smoking again. I’m not sure how to handle this yet.
