Went to the pub with my friends tonight and only drank soft drink (win). We’re planning a trip to Japan and the main guy who’s planning it said “if you’re not drinking beer in Japan you may as well not come” and it’s my first experience (of many I’m sure) of people asking why or encouraging drinking when I don’t want to. What do you all say to people when they ask why? Or ridicule you for not partaking..
